    One fine day five fishermen went fishing.
    어느 화창한 날에 다섯 명의 어부들은 고기를 잡으러 갔다.
    One, two, three, four, five!
    하나, 둘, 셋, 넷, 다섯!
    Down to the river they ran.
    그들은 강가로 달려내려갔다.
    One sat on a rock.
    한명은 돌 위에 앉았다.
    One stood on the dock.
    한명은 부두위에 섰고.
    One climbed up a tree.
    한명은 나무위로 올라갔다.
    One lay in the grass.
    한명은 풀밭에 엎드렸다.
    And one fisherman got into a boat.
    그리고 한명의 어부는 배에 탔다.
    "Hello, down there!" he called to the fish.
    "어이, 여기야!" 그는 물고기들을 향해 외쳤다.
    "We are ready to catch you!"
    "우리가 너희를 잡을 준비가 됬어!"
    At the end of the day each fisherman had a nice fat fish on his line.
    저녁이 되었을 때에 각각의 어부들이 멋지고 통통한 물고기를 낚시줄로 잡았다.
    "What a fine supper we will have!" said one fisherman.
    "맛있는 저녁이 되겠어!" 어부 한명이 말했다.
    "Now let's go home."
    "이제 집에 가자."
    "First we must count to see if we are all here," said another.
    "그전에 사람들이 다 모였는지부터 확인해야해," 다른 한명이 말했다.
    "What if one of us fell into the water?"
    "우리중 한명이 물속에 빠졌으면 어쩌려고?"
    So he began to count.
    그래서 그는 세기 시작했다.
    "One, two, three, four. I see four fishermen.
    "하나, 둘, 셋, 넷. 나는 네명의 어부가 보이네.
    Oh, no!
    아, 안돼!
    One of us is missing!"
    우리중 한명이 실종됬어!"

    "It cannot be!" said another fisherman.
    "이럴수가!" 다른 한명이 말했다.
    "Maybe you counted wrong." So he began to count.
    "어쩌면 너가 잘못 셌을수도 있어." 그래서 그는 다시 세기 시작했다.
    "One, two, three, four.
    "하나, 둘, 셋, 넷.
    I see four fishermen too!
    나도 네명밖에 안보여!
    It is true.
    사실인거야.
    One of us has drowned!"
    우리 중 한 명이 익사했어!"
    All the fishermen hugged each other.
    어부들은 서로를 껴안았다.
    They cried and cried. "Our poor friend!
    그들은 울고 울었다. "우리의 불쌍한 친구!
    What will we do without him?"
    "그가 없이 우린 이제 어쩌지?"
    Just then a litter girl came by. She was going fishing too.
    그때, 마침 한 어린 여자아이가 다가왔다. 그 아이도 낚시를 하러 가던거였다.
    "Why are you so sad?" she asked them.
    "왜 아저씨들은 그렇게 슬퍼하고 있어요?" 아이는 어부들에게 물어봤다.
    "There used to be five of us. But one drowned," said a fisherman.
    "원래 우리는 다섯명이였는데, 한명이 빠져죽어버렸어." 한 어부가 말했다.
    "Now there are only four.
    "그래서 지금은 네명밖에 없어.
    See! One, two, three, four," he counted again.
    봐! 하나, 둘, 셋, 넷," 그는 다시 세기 시작했다.
