- "We've hit a sandbank!" cried one of the men.

They were forced to abandon ship.

But the storm was too much for their little boat.

It was tossed around in the heaving sea.

Then, suddenly, a gigantic wave tipped it right over.

He loaded up the raft with as much as it would hold and paddled back to the beach.

One day, while he was out exploring, he made an exciting discovery:ripe ears of corn.
하루는, 그가 탐험을 하다가 그를 흥분시키게 만든것은 잘 익은 밀 때문이다.
He picked them and kept the grain to sow in the spring.
그는 그것들을 뜯어 가지고 있다가 봄에 씨를 뿌릴것이다.
Every lunchtime, he went home and cooked his food over a fire.
매 점심마다 그는 집에 가서 음식을 불 위에 구워서 요리했다.
He skenned the animals he shot, and dried their skins to use later.
그는 동물들의 가죽을 따로 , 그들의 마른 피부를 따로 나중에 사용했다.
The afternoons were very hot, much too hot to work.
오후에는 엄청 더웠고, 더운 일이 많이 있었다.
So, after lunch, Crusoe climbed into a hammock he'd made and snoozed.
그래서 점심 이후에 크루소는 그가 만들었던 해먹에 올라가서 잠을 잤다.
After his nap, Crusoe stayed near his tent, making things.
그의 낮짐 이후에 크루소는 그의 텐트 주변을 머무르며 물건들을 만들었다.
When it got dark, he worte a diary by candlelight.
어두워졌을때, 그는 촛불에 의지하며 일기를 썼다.
Time passed quickly, so he wouldn't lose track of it, he made notches on a pole, one notch every day and a bigger notch on Sundays.
