Shipwreck!
Long ago, there lived a boy called Robinson Crusoe.
오래 전에, 그곳에는 로빈슨 크루소라는 소년이 살았다.
He wanst't at all interested in school, or books.

All he could think about was being a sailor.

As soon as he was old enough, he set off on his travels.

- A few years later, some of his friends planned a trip to Africa.

Chapter 2
The island home
The next day, when the storm had died down, Crusoe looked for his friends.

All he could find were shoes and a hat.
그는 신발과 모자를 찾았다.
He was totally alone.
그는 완전히 혼자였다.
"What will I do?" he wondered.
"내가 뭘해야 될까요?" 그는 불가사이 했다.
He decided to see what he could find on the ship.
그는 배에서 무엇가를 보고 그는 찾기로 결심했다.
It was easy to reach, now the water was calm.
쉽게 도착했고, 지금은 물이 고요하다.
He found a rope hanging down and hauled himself aboard.
그는 로프를 아래로 매달게 기초를 두고 그자신의 배로 운반했다.

- He was so hungry, he headed straight for the storeroom.

Crusoe found lots of useful things on the wrecked ship: chests of food, barrels of rum, gunpowder and guns.
크루소는 난파된 배에서 많이 쓸모 잇는 것들을 찾아냈다: 대형 상자에는 음식, 통에는 술, 화약과 총이 있다.

- He loaded up the raft with as much as it would hold and paddled back to the beach.
Crusoe sailed to and fro on his raft, rescuing tools, clothes, plenty of wood and some sails.
크루소는 많은 나무와 얼마간의 돛 옷, 도구들을 그의 뗏목을 타면서 이리저리
수집을 했다.
On the trip, he heard a strange noise.
여행중에 그는 이상한 소리를 들었다.
Was it a bark?

He looked around the ship.

Suddenly, the ship's dog bounded up to him, followed by the two ship's cats.
갑자기, 배에서 개가 그의 범위안에 있었고, 베에있는 고양이를 따라갔다.
Crusoe was delighted.
크루소는 아주 기뻐했다.
He wasn't completely alone after all.
그는 완전히 혼자가 아니였다.

- Soon, Crusoe had enough things to make a home.

He found a sheltered spot by a cliff, looking out to sea.

Using the ship's sails, he built a tent.
배에 돛으로 그는 텐트를 세웠다.
Then he built a bigger tent over the top of it, to protect it from the rain.
그는 정상에 큰 텐트를 세웠고, 비로부터 보호했다.
At the back of the tent, there was a sandy cave.
텐트 후방에, 모래의 굴이 있다.
"If I made the cave bigger, I could use it as a storeroom," Crusoe thought.
"만약 큰 굴을 만들면, 나는 저장실로 사용할수 있어," 크루소는 생각했다.

A new way of life
Crusoe soon got used to life on the island.

Every morning, he went hunting with his dog.

He shot birds and wild goats for food.

Sometimes, he clambered over the cliffs, looking for bird's eggs to cook for breakfast.

Crusoe explored every part of the island.

But there was a problem.

Most of the birds thought the corn looked good, too.
많은 새들이 옥수수를 좋아한다고 생각한다.
Crusoe had to fire his gun into the air, to scare them away.
쿠르소는 그것을 쫒아내기 위해 허공에 총을 쐈어야만 했다.

- Crusoe wondered what he should store the corn in.

Finally, he decided to make some clay pots.

It wasn't easy.

His first pots had very wobbly edges.
