- -Feeding the Five Thousand
One day, Jesus heard that John the Baptist had died.
어느날, 예수님은 교도인 요한이 죽어가는것을 들었다.
He went to a quiet place by a lake to be alone.
그는 조용히 호숫가가 있는 장소로 왔다.
However, people found out where Jesus was.
하지만 사람들은 예수님이 어디에있는지 찾지못했다.
Sick people wanted to be cured.
아픈사람들은 치료되기를 바랬고,
Others wanted to hear Jesus speak.
다른사람들은 예수님의 말씀을 듣기를 원했다.
Jesus felt pity for these people.
예수님은 이 사람들을 불쌍히 여기셨다.
so he put his sadness aside.
그래서 그는 그의 슬픔을 버리셨다.
He cured them, and he spoke to them until evening.
그는 그들을 치료하고 그는 저녁이 될때까지 그들에게 말했다.
The apostles told Jesus "It is getting dark.
그 제자가 예수님에게 말했다. 곧 어두워 질거에요.
We do not have enough food to feed all these people.
우리에게는 이 사람들을 먹일 음식이 충분하지않아요.
Many of them are hungry.
많은 이들이 배가 고픕니다.
Jesus told them,
예수님은 그들에게 말했다.
"We will share with them what we have."
우리는 우리가 가지고 있는것만으로 그들에게 나누어 줄것이다.
The apostles protested,
그 제자가 항의했다.
But Master, we only have five loaves of bread two fish!
하지만 예수님, 우리는 빵5조각과 생선 2마리 밖에 없어요!
There are at least five thousand men, women and children gathered here.
여기에는 여자와 아이들을 포함해 5천명이 모여있다.
How can we feed all of them with so little food?
어떻게 우리가 매우 적은 음식들로 그들을 먹일수 있을까?
"Bring the food to me, said Jesus.
나에게 음식을 가져와라. 예수님이 말했다.
He blessed the food and then told the apostles to give it away
그는 음식에게 축복을 내렸고 제자들에게 음식을 나눠주라고 했다.
The apostles gave the food to some of the people and then came back to Jesus.
그 제자들은 몇몇의 사람들에게 음식을 주고 예수님에게 돌아왔다.
To their surprise, there was more bread and fish in the basket!.
그들에게 놀라운일이 일어났다. 바구니안에 물고기와 빵이 더 많아진것이다!
The apostles filled their arms and went into the crowed again.
그 제자들은 그들의 팔로 채워졌다 그리고 5천명의 사람들에게 계속해서 갔다.
All five thousand people had enough to eat.
5천명의 사람들이 배부르게 먹었다.
When they were all full. the apostles returned once more to Jesus with the food that was left over.
그들 모두가 배불리 먹었을때, 그 제자는 예수님에게 돌아가 음식을 다 나누어주었다고 말했다.
Then Jesus told his apostles to go to the other side of the lake without him.
그때 예수님은 그의 제자들에게 호숫가로 가라고 말했다.
Jesus went to the top of a hill to pray for the death of John the Baptist.
예수님은 죽은 침례교도인 요한을 위해 언덕 꼭대기로 가서 기도했다.

- I awoke very early one morning in April 1883.
나는 1883년 4월 아침일찍 일어났다.
Sherlock Homles and I were living together.
셜록홈즈와 나는 함께 살았다.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was only seven.
나는 시계를 봤고. 7시였다.
Usually Holmes liked to sleep in late but he was already dressed hovering over me.
홈즈와는 늦게까지 잠자는것을 좋아했지만 그는 이미 옷을 입고 나보다 먼저 준비했다.
I looked up at him in surprise.
나는 그를 보고 깜짝 놀랐다.
"What is it, HOlmes?" I asked.
이게 뭐야 홈즈? 나는 물었다.
"Is there a fire?"
불이난거야?
"No, there is a woman here."
아니, 여기 여자가 있어.
I think it is a case.
나는 실제라고 생각했다.
I know you will want to hear everything from the begining Watson, he said.
나는 네가 하루를시작하는 소리를 듣기원한다는것을 알아, 왓슨. 그가 말했다.
I quickly got dressed and went downstairs with Holmes.
나는 빠르게 옷을입었고, 홈즈와 계단을 내려갔다.
We saw a lady in the sitting room.
우리는 방안에 앉아있는 여자를 봤다.
She immediately stood up when we entered the room.
그녀는 우리가 방안으로 들어가자 바로 일어났다.
She was dressed in black and her expression was very grave.
그녀는 검은색 드레스를 입었고 그녀의 표정은 죽은듯했다.
"Good morning! I am sherlock Homles and this is Dr. Watson.
좋은아침이에요! 전 셜록홈즈 이쪽은 왓슨이에요.
He is my dear friend and associate.
그는 나와 정말친한 친구다.
