Dorothy wanted to ask more questions, but the little woman suddenly pointed to the witch's feet under the house.
Dorothy는 다른 질문을 더 물어보고 싶었지만 작은 여자가 갑자기 집 아래에 신발을 가르켰다.
"Look," she said with a laugh.
"저길 봐요," 그녀가 웃으면서 말했다.
"They are dried up."
"말라가고 있어요."
She took off the witch's silver shoes.
그녀는 은색 신발을 챙겼다.
"You can have these," she said.
"이것을 가져가요." 그녀가 말했다.
"There is some kind of magic in them, but I don't know what it is."
"이 신발안에는 마법이 들어있어요. 하지만 그 마법이 무엇인지는 모르겠어요."
Dorothy took the shoes and went into the house.
Dorothy는 신발을 챙긴다음 집안으로 들어갔다.
she put the shoes on the table and than came outside again.
그녀는 신발을 탁자 위에 올려둔뒤 다시 밖으로 나왔다.
She said, "I'd like to go back to my house in kansas, Do you know how to get there?"
그녀가 말했다,"저 다시 kansas로 돌아가고 싶어요, 그곳에 어떻게 가시는지 아세요?"
The little people looked at one another and shook their heads.
작은 사람들이 서로를 보더니 고개를 저었다.
"To the East and the south," one of the little men said, "there is only desert. And the South is the land of the Quadlings."
"동쪽이나 남쪽으로 가보세요." 작은 남자 중 한명이 말했다, "그곳은 오직 사막잉이에요. 그리고 남쪽은 Quadling에 있어요."
"I think it's the same in the West," another of the little men said.
"제 생각에는 서쪽이랑 같은 것 같은데요." 다른 작은 남자가 말했다.
"And that's where a wicked Witch lives."
"그리고 그곳에는 사악한 마녀가 살아."
"The North is our home," the little woman said.
"북쪽이 우리 집이야." 작은 여자가 말했다.
"You must live with us."
"너는 우리랑 같이 여기 살아야해."
"But I don't want to," Dorothy objected.
"하지만 저는 그것을 원하지 않아요." Dorothy가 말했다.
"I want to go home." she started to cry.
"저는 집에 가고 싶어요." 그녀가 울기 시작했다.
The litle people looked at one another.
작은 사람들은 다른 사람을 보았다.
Them the woman said,"The best thing for you to do is go to the city of Emeralds. The Great Wizard is a good man, and perhaps he will help you."

"But how do I get there?" Dorothy asked.

"You must follow the yellow brick road. it's a long walk, but you'll be all right," the little woman said.
"노란색 벽돌 길을 따라 가보세요. 다주 긴 길이에요 하지만 당신은 바른 길로 갈 거에요."
She gave Dorothy a kiss and them disappeared.

Dorothy went back into her house and looked for something to eat.
Dorothy는 집 안으로 들어가서 보이는 것을 먹었ㄷ.
She was hungry, and sp was Toto.
그녀는 배가 고팠고, Toto도 배가 고팠다.
She ate some bread and butter and then went down to the stream for some water to drink.
그녀는 버터 바른 빵을 먹고 물을 마시기 위해 개울가로 가서 물을 마셨다.
Then she changed into a blue and white dress and put a bonnet n her head.
그리고 파란색과 흰색이 있는 옷으로 갈아 입고 보닛을 썼다.
she looked at her feet.
그녀는 그의 발을 보았다.
She was wearing old leather shoes.
그녀는 오래된 가죽 신발을 신고 있었다.
They weren't very comfortable, so she tried on the witch's silver shoes.
그들은 좋아 보이지 않았고, 그래서 그녀는 마녀의 은빛 구두를 신었다.
They fitted her perfectly.
그들은 더 할 나위 없이 잘 어울렸다.
Then she put some bread in a basket and said to Toto,"Now we're ready for our journey to the City of Emeralds."

She left the house and started walking.
그녀는 집을 나와서 걷기 시작했다.
Soon she came to the yellow brick road.

- As she walked along, people came out of their farm houses and bowed to her.
그녀가 걷고 있을 때, 사람들은 그녀의 농장 집으로 가서 그녀에게 고개를 숙였다.
They knew she was the girl who killed the Wicked Witch of the East.
그들은 그녀가 동쪽의 사악한 마녀를 죽인 소녀라는 것을 알고 있었다.
Toward evening, she came to a house that was bigger than all the others.
오후가 되었을 때 그녀는 다른 집들보다 큰 집에 갔다.
Men and wpomen were dancing on the grass in fromt of it.
남자와 여자들은 그것을 앞에 두고 잔디 위에서 춤추고 있었다.
Five men were playing violins.
다섯명의 남자가 바이올린을 켜고 있었다.
There were tables full of food.
그곳에 탁자는 음식으로 가득 차 있었다.
A man came up to her.
남자가 그녀 앞으로 왔다.
"Welcome," he said.
"환영해요," 그가 말했다.
"My name is Doq. I am a Munchkin. You are a good witch."
"제 이름은 Boq에요. 먼치킨 사람이랍니다. 당신은 좋은 마녀네요."
"I'm not a witch," Dorothy said.
"나는 마녀가 아니에요." Dorothy가 말했다.
"I'm just a girl."
"저는 여자 아이에요."
"But you are wearing white." Boq said.
"하지만 당신은 흰 옷을 입고 있잖아요." Boq가 말했다.
"Good witches wear wihite."
"좋은 마녀들은 흰옷을 입어요."
"My dress is blue and white," Dorothy said.
"제 옷은 파란색과 흰색이에요." Dorothy가 말했다.
"And that is why we know you are our friend. Blue is the favorite color of the Munchkins."
"그리고 당신이 왜 우리들의 친구인지 알겠어요. 파란색은 먼치킨이 가장 좋아하는 색이거든요."

- Dorothy had no answer to this, so she said, "I am very tired. May I rest here?"
Dorothy는 그 말에 대답을 안했다. 그리고 그녀가 말했다. "저는 지금 많이 피곤해요. 여기서 쉬다 가도 될까요?"
"Of course," Boq said and took her to a bedroom.
"물론이죠." Boq가 말하고 그녀를 침실에 데려다 주었다.
Dorothy fell asleep immediately.
Dorothy는 곧 바로 잠이 들었다.
In the morning, Boq gave her a good breakfast and said, "How can we help you?"
아침이 되고, Boq가 아침 식사를 가지고 와서 말했다."저희가 무엇을 도와드릴 수 있을까요?"
"You can tell me how to get to the City of Emeralds,"
"에메랄드시로 가려면 어떻게 가야 하는지 이야기 해주시면 되요."
"I don't know." Boq said.
"몰라요." Boq가 말했다.
"None of us ever goes there. I do know, though, that the road is long and dangerous."
"우리 중에 누구도 그곳에 가본 적이 없답니다. 제가 알기에도 생각하기에도 이 길은 너무 길고 위험해요."
"I have to see the Wizard of Oz," Dororhty explained.
"저는 마법사 Oz를 보러가야 해요." Dorothy가 말했다.
"Only he can tell me how to get home to Kansas."
"오직 그만이 제 집이 있는 Kansas로 가는 것을 알아요."
She left Boq and his friends and continued on her journey.
그녀는 Boq와 그의 친구들을 떠나서 여행을 계속 했다.
She soon came to a cornfield.
그녀는 곧 옥수수 밭에 도착했다.
There was a Scarecrow in it.
그곳에는 허수아비가 있었다.
It was on a pole.
허수아비는 장대 위에 있었다.
Its head was bag full of straw.
허수아비의 머리는 짚으로 가득 차 있었다.
It had eyes, ears, a nose, and a mouth paainted on it.
눈도 있었고 코도 있었고 귀도 있었고 입도 있었다.
Its clothes were very old and blue in color.
허수아비의 옷은 매우 낡았고 파란색이었다.
As she looked a t it, one of its eyes closed and then opened again.
그녀가 허수아비를 보았을 때 허수아비의 눈이 감겼다 떠졌다.
The Scarecrow winked at me, Dorothy thought.
허수아비가 윙크를 했다고 Dorothy는 생각했다.
Then the Scarecrow nodded its head at her in a friendly way.
그리고 허수아비는 고개를 끄덕였다.
She went into the field and walked up to it.
그녀는 옥수수밭으로 걸어들어갔다.
