- The Fox and the Grapes
One very hot day, a thirsty fox saw some ripe grapes in a garden.
어느 더운날, 목이 마른 여우는 과수원에 있는 맛있게 익은 포도를 보았다.

- He said to himself ,"How lucky I am! On a hot day like this. ripe grapes will be much nicer then cool water."
여우는 말했다."나는 행운아야! 더운 날 이것을보다니. 잘익은 포도가 시원한 물보다 낫지."
Then he walked quietly into the garden, and jumped up at the grapes.
그는 빨리 걸어서 과수원안으로 들어갔다, 그리고 포도를 향해 뛰었다.
Butthe fox just missed them.
하지만 여우는그것을 놓쳤다.
He tried again and again, but every time he couldn't get the grapes.
그는 계속 시도하였지만, 그는 포도를 얻지못하였다.
Finally,the fox stopped trying.
결국 여우는 포기하였다.
He said,"I won't try any more; the grapes are probably sour!"
여우가 말했다, 나는 이제시도하지않겠어, 아마 저 포도는 실테니까!"

- The Fox and the Crow
여우와 까마귀
A crow was sitting on a tree branch with a piece of delicious cheese in its mouth.
까마귀는 나뭇가지에 앉아 맛있는 치즈 한조각을 입에 물고 있었다.
A fox saw the crow and wanted the cheese.
여우는 까마귀를 보았다.그리고 치즈를 원했다.
The fox thought and thought about how it could get the cheese.
여우는 어떻 게하면 치즈를 가질 수 있을지 생각하고 또 생각했다.
Finally the fox had an idea.
마침내 여우는 생각이 났다.
The fox said,"What a special bird! It is the most beautiful bird in the world. Are its songs as beautiful as its face?"
여우가 말했다 너는 특별한 새야! 세상에서 제일 아름다운 새야. 노래도 얼굴처럼 아름다울까?
These kind words made the crow very happy, and the crow wanted to sing a song for the fox.
이런 종류의 단어가 까마귀를 정말 행복하게 하였다.그래서 까마귀는 여우에게 노래를 불러주었다.
But when the crow opened its mouth to sing,the cheese fell down!
그러나 까마귀의입을 열으니까 치즈가떨어졌다!

- The smart fox quickly ran and got the cheese.
똑똑한 여우는 빨리뛰어서 치즈를 가져갔다.
Then the fox said to the crow,"You are very beautiful, but not very smart."
여우가 까마귀한테 말하였다. "너는 매우아름답지만, 똑똑하진않아."
Don't always believe people who tell you kind things.
친절한 얘기를 하는 사람을 항상 믿어서는 안 된다.
The Fox and the Woodcutter
여우와 나무꾼
Some hunters were chasing a fox.
사냥꾼들이 여우를 쫒고있었다.
The fox saw a woodcutter,and asked him for help.
여우는 나무꾼을 보았다.그리고 그에게 도와달라며 물었다.
"Please hide me, kind woodcutter," the fox said.
"제발 저좀 숨겨주세요,착한 나무꾼님," 여우가 말했다.
The woodcutter told the fox to go into his house.
나무꾼은 자신의집으로 들어가라고 말하였다.
Soon the hunters came.
잠시후 사냥꾼들이 왔다.
They asked the woodcutter, "did you see a fox?"
나무꾼에게 물었다," 당신은 여우를 보았습니까?"
The woodcutter said,"No,"but pointed to his house.
나무꾼은 아니라고 말하였지만,자신의집을 가리켰다.

- The hunters didn't know why the woodcutter pointed.
사냥꾼들은 왜 나무꾼이 가리키는지를 알지 못하였다.
They went away.
그들은 그곳으로 가보았다.
After a while the fox came out of the house.
그동안 여우는 집밖으로 나갔다.
The fox didn't say,"Thank you."
여우는 고맙다고 말하지 못했다.
The woodcutter got angry at the fox.
나무꾼은 여우에게 화가 났다.
"Why don't you say thank you?" he asked.
"넌 왜고맙다고 말하지않냐?" 그가 물었다.
"I wanted to thank you," the fox said.
"나도 고맙다고 하고 싶다,"여우가 말했다.
"But I saw you signal to the hunters.
"하지만 나는 당신이 사냥꾼들에게 신호를 보내는 것 을 보았다.
Your words did not match your actions."
당신의 말과 당신의 행동이 일치 되지 않았다."

- The Lion and the Mouse
사자와 생쥐
A lion was sleeping happily when a mouse ran over its face.
사자가행복하게 자고있는데, 생쥐가 사자의 얼굴 앞으로 지나갔다.
The lion woke up, and was very angry.
사자가 일어났다.그리고그는 정말 화가 났다.
The big lion caught the little mouse to kill it.
큰 사자가 작은 생쥐를 죽일라고 잡았다.
"If you don't kill me, someday I will help you!"
"만약 당신이 날 죽이지 않는다면 언젠간 내가 당신을 도와드릴게요!"
Suddenly the lion started to laugh
갑자기 사자는 웃기 시작했다.
"A little mouse can help a big lion like me?"
"작은 생쥐가 큰사자인 나를 도울수있다고?"
The lion thought it was funny and let it go.
사자는 재밌다고 생각해서 생쥐를 보내주었다.
Soon after that day, the lion was walking in the forest.
좀지나서 어느날, 사자는 숲을 걸어가고 있었다.
Suddenly it got caught in a net.
갑자기 사자는 그물에 걸렸다.
The lion was very angry, and roared.
사자는 매우화가나서, 소리를 질렀다.
The Mouse heared the lion and ran to help.
생쥐는 그소리를 듣고.사자를 도와주기 위해 달렸다.
The mouse saw the net and started chewing on it.
생쥐는 그물을 보고 씹기 시작했다.
soon the mouse chewed a big hole in the net,and thelion was free.
곧 생쥐가씹어서 큰 구멍이 났다. 사자는 자유로워졌다.
"See," the mouse said,"you laughed at me but even a little mousecan help a big lion."
"봐바,"생쥐가말했다,"작은쥐는 사자를 도와줄수있어."
Being kind to someone is never a waste.
친절을 베푸는 것은 절대 쓸모없는 일이 아니다.

The lion was sure he would soon die.

이내 숲에사는 모두는 사자의 처치를 알게 되었다.
The other animals all felt sorry for the lion.
동물들 모두 사자가 딱하다는 것을느꼈다.
So one by one they came to visit the lion.
한 사람씩 사자에게 방문하였다.

As each animal came into his home.
각각 동물들은 그의 집으로 들어왔다.
they were easy to catch and eat.
그들은 쉽게잡히고 먹혔다.
Soon the old lion became happy and fat.
곧 늙은사자는 살쪘고 행복했다.
One day, early in the morning,the fox came.
어느날,아침 일찍 여우가 왔다.
The fox was very wise,too.
여우도 정말 현명했다.
He slowly came close to the lion's home.
그는 천천히닫혀있는 그의 집으로갔다.
Standing outside, he asked if the lion was feeling better.
밖에서,여우는 사자의 기분을 물었다.
"Hello,my best friend,"said the lion.
"안녕나의 친한친구야."사자가 말했다.
"Is it you? I can't see you very well.
"그거너야? 난 너가 좋아보이지 않아.
You're so far away.
너가 너무 멀어
Come closer, please, and tell me some kind words because I am old, and will die soon."
왜가까이 오라는거야 착한말로 나를 불러 날 죽이려는거야."
While the lion was talking, the fox was looking closely at the ground in front of the lion's home.
사자는 계속 말하는데, 여우는 사자 문앞을 보았다.
Finally the fox looked up, and said to the lion.
마지막으로 여우가 봤다,그리고 사자가 말했다.

He is wise who is warned by th mis for turnes of others.
현명한 사람은 다른 사람들에게 닥친 불행을 보고 조심한다.
