Mercury, also known as quicksilver is infamous all around the world.

The mercury is a liquid state on a room temperature, and it glows like silver.

Since the mercury was found, it was a great attraction in Europe.

Like the picture below, mercury was used to make their face white.

 But actually, the reason why it made the face white is because of the mercury that killed the cells.

That made the skin white!

Also, some people (such as Qin Shi Huang Di) even drank mercury!

 Nowadays, after we started to know the dangerousity of mercury, much of the using was reduced.

Scientists have found out the dangerous mercury was after the 1900s.

These are the effects that mercury listed below.

1. It causes mental damage making people's brain to work inproperly.
2. It also blocks veins and also make parts of body to be torned out or decay

 For example, in a place in Japan, people suddenly died from mercury.

It was because of the mercury flown to the sea from the nearby factory.

It went inside fish' body and people ate it.

 As a result, this happened.

Of course, many people died from it.

So, people started to be aware of it and many people know it these days.

The effects of mercury that is around us for thousands of years will still be with us for at least hundreds of years.
