Incredible world of bugs

I’m a person who reads all insect book in sight. So that’s kind of 80% why I chose this book to read. And the other reason of 20% is that when people say ‘incredible, it just sounds really good in some reasons.

There are very many kinds of insects. But only a fascinating insects are shown in this book. And I’m going to tell the best of the best of the best insects. (Well for me).

Bug-Eyed Stalker (Stalked-Eyed Fly)

This fly is distinctive because Its two red eyes are out on stalks! Each eyestalk can be up to one centimeter long, which is sometimes longer than the bugs. These flies are plant-eaters so they don’t need improved visions from their eyestalk for hunting. But females seem to prefer males with longer eyestalks and the male love to show off their stalks by stretching them out sideways as far as they possibly can. The battle with other long-stalked males, much like deer locking antlers. The champion gets to mate with the lady (or ladies!) that turn up to watch. Their size is 0.4~1.2 long. They eat bacteria, and some rotten vegetables. And they are not dangerous. A stalked-eyed fly’s extra-wide vision helps it to detect lurking predators. A stalked-eyed fly lives in tropical rainforests, riverbanks and swamps in Southeast Asia, southern Africa and some times Europe and North  America. Did you know there are about 100 species of . A stalked-eyed fly. These flies have antennae on their eyestalks as well as their eyes.

There are so many incredible bugs around us ,and its our sake to protect it
