There seemed to be no chance of getting her hands up to her head, so she tried to get her head down to her hands.
그것에는 그녀의 손을 올려 머리를 만질 기회도 없었고 그녀는 그녀의 손을 머리 아래로 내릴려고 노력했다.
Alice was delighted to find that her neck could bend easily in any direction,like a snake.

She zigzagged her head through the trees.
그녀는 그녀의 머리를 나무에 지그재그로 하며 생각했다.
Finally, she found her hands.

She did not go near the house until she was nine inches tall.

Suddenly a footman ran out of the woods.
갑자기 숲속에서 뛰어오는 발 소리가 들렸다.
(She thought of him as a footman because he was wearing a fancy uniform.그녀가 그의 발소리를 들었을 때 그가 멋있는 유니폼을 입었기 때문이라고 생각했다.
If she were judging by his face,she would have thought of him as a fish)
만약 그녀가 그의 얼굴의 의해서 심사하는중에,그녀는 그가 물고기라고 생각하곤 했다)
The Fish-Footman knocked on the door.
그 물고기 하인은 문을 두드렸다.
Another footman,this one with the face of a frog,opened it.
다른 하인은, 개구리의 얼굴과 함께 그것을 열어주었다.
They both wore powdered white wigs.
그들은 둘다 힘있는 하얀 날개를 입고있었다.
Alice crept closer to the house to listen.

- The Fish-Footman gave the Frog-Footman a gaint letter.

"For the Duchess,"he announced.

"여왕님께서 크로켓을 하자고 초대하셨습니다."
Then they bowed very low,and their wigs got stuck together.
그리곤 그들은 매우 느리게 인사하였고 그들의 날개끼리 부딪쳤다.
Alice laughed so hard,she had to hide deeper in the woods.
앨리스는 매우 비웃었고 그녀는 산 속 깊이 더 높이 갔다.
When Alice came out of the woods,the Fish-Footman was sit-thing by the door staring into the sky
그녀가 숲에서 나왔을때, 그 물고기 하인이 하늘에 별들에게 문을 개정해주었다.

- Alice approached the door and knocked.
앨리스는 문앞에 서서 두드렸다.
"There's no use in knocking,"the Frog-Footman said.
"노크해도 소용없어,"그 개구리 하인이 말했다.
"For two reasons. One,I am on the same side of the door as you are.
And two,because they are making so much noise insied,no one could hear you."
" 두가지 이유가있어, 하나는, 나와 당신이 그 문 앞에 있는게 같은 모서리 였다는것 그리고 두번째는 안에서 너무 소란스러웠긴 때문에 너를 들을 수 없다는 것."
There was a lot of noise inside the house.
그 집 안에는 많이 시끄러웠다.
Alice heard howls and sneezes and, every now and then,a great crash.
앨리스는 우는것과 재채기하는것과 지금 모두가 그래쉬를 하고 있다는 것을 들었다.
"I shall sit here," the Frog-Footman said,
"내가 여기에 앉겠어요," 그 개구리가 말했다,
"until tomorrow--"
"내일까지이--"

- At this point,the door opened.
이 순간에, 문이 열렸다.
A large plate came flying out,straight at the Frog-Footman's head.
하나의 큰 행성이 날라왔고,곧장 개구리 하인의 머리로 왔다.
It grazed his nose and shattered on the ground.
그것은 그의 코를 까지게 했고 땅 위에서 산산조각이 났다.
"----or the next day maybe," the Frog-Footman continued,as if nothing had happened.
"----또는 아마 내일 올꺼야," 그 개구리하인이 아무일도 없었다는 듯이 계속해서 했다.
Alice decided to go inside,anyway.
앨리스는 그래도 안으로 들어가기로 결심했다.
She stepped into a large kitchen.
그녀는 하나의 큰 부엌으로 발걸음을 했다.
The Duchess was sitting on a stool,holding a crying baby.
공작부인이 식탁에 앉아서, 우는 아이를 들고 있었다.
The cook was lean-ing over the fire,stirring soup.
그 요리사는 불의 성향을 보고,스프를 데웠다.

"There'd too much pepper in that soup!" she cired.
"스프에 후추가 너무많이 들어가 있어!"그녀가 울었다.
There was also too much pepper in the air.
공기속에서도 후추가 너무 많이 있었다.
Duchess sneezed. 공작부인이 재체기를 했다.
The only two creatures in the room who did not sneeze were the cook and a large cat.
그 방 안에는 두 창조물이 있었는데 재체기를 하지않는 요리사와 고양이가 있었다.
The cat sat on the ground,grinning from ear to ear.
그 고양이는 땅에 앉아서 입이 찢어지도록 웃고있었다

Alice jumped,thinking the Duchess was talk-ing about her.
앨리스는 뛰어서,그 공작부인이 그녀에 대해서 말하는것을 생각하고 있었다.
But it seemed that she was tallking to the baby.
그러나 그것은 그녀가 아기에게 말하는것으로 보였다.
Alice continued,"I didn't know Chershire-Cats grinned.I didn't know cats could grin."
앨리스는 계속했다," 나는 체셔치즈 고양이가 활짝 웃는지 몰랐어.나는 그 고양이가 활짝 웃을 수 있다는것도 몰랐어."
" You don't know very much," said the Duchess.
"너는 많이 모르는군," 공작 부인이 말했다.

- The cook took the soup off the fire.
그 요리사는 스프가 올려져 있는 불을 껏다.
Then she began throwing everything nearby at the Duchess and the baby.
그리고 그녀는 공작부인과 아기 옆에 놓인 모든것을 통해 시작했다.
It was a shower of pots,pans,and dishes.
그것은 냄비와,팬들 그리고 접시를 닦았다.
The Duchess took no notice.
공작부인은 신경을 쓰지 않았다.
The baby howled.
그 아기가 울었다.
Since it had been howling before, Alice wan't sure if the dishes were hurt-ing it or not.
그것이 울기전에 , 앨리스는 만약 그 접시들이 깨졌다거나 아니거나 확실히 알수 없었기 때문이다.
"Please mind what you're doing!" Alice cried, jumping out of the way.
"제발 니가 하는짓을 그만둬!"앨리스는 울면서 거기를 뛰어 나왔다.
A saucer sailed by the baby's face.
하나의 쟁반을 아기 얼굴에 갖다댔다.
"Oh,his poor nose!"
"불쌍한 그의 코!"

She pushed the baby into Alice's arms.
그녀가 앨리스의 팔로 아기를 밀었다.
"I must go get ready to play croquet with the the Queen," the Duchess added.
"나는 여왕과 함께 크로켓 놀이를 하기위해 준비하러 가야만해," 공작부인이 추가했다.
She hurried out of the room.
그녀는 방에서 나가려고 서둘렀다.
The cook threw a frying pan after her.
그녀는 그녀가 나간뒤에 후라이팬으로 요리했다.
The baby squirmed wildly in Alice's arms.
그 아기는 앨리스의 팔에서 미친듯이 꿈틀댔다.
She could barely keep a hold of it.
그녀는 가까스로 그것을 붙잡아 유지할 수 있었다.
She ran out of the house with the baby.
그녀는 그 아기와 함까 집 밖으로 달려 나갔다.
I have to take this baby away with me, she thought.
나는 이 아기를 대리고 여길 나가야 되겠어, 그녀가 생각했다.
It's far too dangerous in there.
그곳은 너무 멀고 위험한 곳에 있었다.

She pushed the blankets aside so she could see the baby's face.
그녀는 바구니를 한쪽에 밀고서 그녀가 그 아기의 얼굴을 볼 수 있게 했다.
The baby had an odd nose.
그 아기는 이상한 코를 가지고 있었다.
It looked more like a snout than a nose.
그것은 코 보다 돼지코 처럼 더 보였다.
Also,its eyes were terribly small.
또한,그것의 눈은 쾌쾌한 냄새가 났었다.
It wasn't a very cute baby.
그것은 귀여운 아기가 아니였다.
The baby grunted again. 그 아기는 다시 끙끙 거렸다.
Alice assumed it was probably just crying.
앨리스는 그것이 아마 그냥 우는것이라도 추정했다.
But it couldn't be crying---- there were no tears.
그러나 그것은 우는것이 아니였다----눈물이 없었다.
