그것은 하얀 토끼였다.
He was hurrying through the hall,muttering,"The Duchess! Oh,my fur and whiskers! She'll be so angry. Where did I drop them?"
그는 복도를 통해 서두르는중에, 중얼거렸다,"공작부인!,어 털과 수염, 그녀가 화낼꺼야.내가 그것들을 어디다가 떨어트렸지?"
Alice realized he must be searching for his fan and white gloves.
앨리스는 그가 그의 팬과 하얀 장갑으로만 찾아야 한다는것을 깨달았다.
She started to look for them,too.
그녀도 그것들을 찾기 시작했다.
But they were nowhere to be soon
그러나 그것들은 곧 아무에도 없었다.
That's when the Rabbit noticed her.
토끼가 그녀를 발견했을 때 였다
"Mary Ann!" he yelled.
"마리 앤!" 그가 소리쳤다.
"What are you doing here? Run home and fetch me my gloves and a fan, Quickly!"
"너 거기서 뭐하는거야? 집에가서 내 장갑이랑 팬이랑 빨리 나한테 가져와!"
Alice was so frightened, she ran off at once.
앨리스는 너무 무서워서 탈선했다.

"How surprised he'll be! Still,I'd better get him is fan and gloves. If I can find them."
" 그가 그랬다는것에 놀라워! 아직,내가 그의 장갑과 팬을 가지고 있는게 낫겠어. 만약 내가 그것들을 가지고있다면 말이야
As she said this,she realized she was no longer indoors.
그녀가 그것을 말할때, 그녀는 그녀가 실내에 오래있지않는다는것을 깨달았다.
She came upon a small road and, there,happened upon a little house.
그녀가 작은 길로 따라 들어왔고 거기에는 작은 집이 있었다.
A brass plate on the door said W.RABBIT
한 놋쇠빛깔의 접시가 문위에서 W.RABBIT라고 말했었다.

그녀가 안으로 돌진했고 서둘러 계단을 올랐다.
"How strange to be running errands for a rabbit" Alice said.
"토끼가 심부름 하며 달려가기에는 이상한데 " 앨리스가 말했다
"I suppose I'll be running errands for Dinah next ! "
" 내가 나중에 대니쉬를 위해서 심부름을 한다고 가정해보자!"
Upstairs,she found a fan and a few pairs of gloves
계단이서,그녀눈 팬과 몇몇의 장갑 한짝을 찾았다
She grabbed them and was just about to leave when she spotted a tiny bottle.
그녀가 그것들을 잡고 그냥 떠나려할때 얼룩덜룩한 작은 병을 1ㅗ았다.
There was no label in it that said DRINK ME, but she decided to drink it,anyway
거기에는 내용물은 없었는데 안에 그것이 나를 마셔주세요 라고 적혀있？Z2ㅣ만 그녀는 그것을 언제든지 먹겠다고 다짐했다

It did make her grow,and fast.

She had only finished half the bottle when she felt her head against the celling

She quickly dropped the bottle
그녀는 빠르게 그 병을 주었다.
"That's enough,".she said.
"충분해"그녀가 말했다.
"I hope I don't grow more. As it is, I can't get out the door!"
"나는 더이상 커지고싶지않아. 그것이 커질때,나는 문밖으로 나갈 수 없어!"

She had to lie down with one elbow against the door.
그녀는 다시 문에 팔과 함께 누웠다.
Then she had to put one arm out the window and one foot up the chimney.
그리고 그녀는 창문으로 팔을 내밀고 한 발을 굴뚝으로 내밀었다.
Finally,she stopped growing.
끝내, 그녀가 자라는것이 멈추워졌다.
That was good,because there was nowhere else to go.
그것은 아무데도 갈수 없기 때문에 좋았었다.
But she was also very uncomfortable.
그러나 그녀 또한 매우 불편했다
And there was no chance of her getting out of the room now.
그리고 그녀가 그 방에서 나올 수 있는 기회는 없었다.
"Mary Ann!" she heard from outside the window.
"메리 앤!" 그녀는 창문 밖에서로 부터 들었다
"Fetch me my gloves this minute!"
"당장 내 장갑을 가지고 와!"

"Then I'll go around and try the window,"Alice heard him say

When she heard the Rabbit under the window,she reached out a hand and grabbed at the air.
그녀는 그 토끼가 창문아래서 말했을때 들었고,그녀는 그녀가 닿지 않는 데에 손을 뻗어 공기를 잡았다.
She saw a small greenhouse outside and tried not to hit it, but the Rabbit must have knocked into it himself,because she heard a shriek and the crash of broken glass.
그녀는 작은 초록집을 밖으로 보았고 그것을 때리지않을려고 노력했지만 그 토끼는 그것이 그의 자신으로 차야했기때문에 그녀는 잔을 깨트려서 그가 충격을 받게 했다.
"Pat!" Alice heard the Rabbit cry.
"팟!" 앨리스는 토끼가 우는것을 들었다.
"Tell me, what's that in the window?"
"나에게 말해줘, 뭐가 창문이지?"
Another voice---- Alice assumed it was Pat's----answered.
앨리스는 그것이 팻의 다른 목소리라고 추측했다.
"It's an arm,Your Honor."
"그것은 팔이고,너의 명예야."
"It's got no business there!" the Rabbit yelled.
"거기는 비지니스가 아니야!" 그 토끼가 소리쳤다.
"Take it away!"
"가져가버려!"

- Alice spread her fingers and grabbed at the air again.
앨리스는 그녀의 손가락으로 다시 공기를 잡는 시늉을 했다.
This time, there were two little shrieks.
그 시간에, 어디선가 두명의 작은 소리지름이 들려왔다.
And more sounds of broken glass.
그리고 깨지는 유리병의 소리보다 더했다.
She heard something being wheeled over.
그녀는 무언가가 구슬리기 시작하는 소리를 들었다.
There were now many voices talking.
지금 거기에는 많은 목소리가 이야기하고 있다.
"Where's the other ladder? . . . .Bill's got it...Bill,bring it here!...Put them in this corner...No,tie them together first... They don't reach high enough.. They'll do just fine ...Bill catch hold of this rope...Mind that loose shingle...Oh,it's coming down! Look out below!"
"다른 사다리가 어디있지?... 빌은그것을 얻었나...빌은, 그것을 여기로 가져왔어!... 그것을 여기 모퉁이에 두고,.. 아니 그것을 처음에 같이 묶자.. 그들은 높고 충분하게 닿을 수 없어... 그것들은 잘 끝낼꺼야...빌은 이 줄을 잡고 ... 헐거워진 조약돌을 줍고...아,그것이 내려가고있잖아! 저기를 따라봐바!"
(A loud crash.)
(한 큰것이 다가온다.)

- "Bill,look what you did! ... Who will go down the chimney? ... Bill of course.. Bill,the master says you've got to go down the chimney!"
"빌,니가 한짓을 봐!... 누가 굴뚝으로 들어갈래?.. 당연히 빌이... 빌, 니가 굴뚝으로 가자고 했으니 니가 다녀와!"
"So Bill's going down the chimney,is he?" Alice said.
"그래서 빌이 굴뚝으로 간거지,그렇지?" 앨리스가 말했다.
"They make Bill do everything!"
"그것들은 모두 빌이 만든것이잖아!"
Alice had her foot in the chimney,then gave a little kick.
앨리스는 그녀의 발로 굴뚝에 갖다대고 살짝 발로 참을 주었다.
"There goes Bill!" she heard the voices say.
"빌이 거기에 갔어!" 그녀는 그 목소리로 말하는것을 들었다.
There was some scrambling to catch him.
어디선가 들리는 비명소리가 그를 잡았다.

Now Alice had had enough.
이제 앨리스는 충분히 했다.
She called as loud as she could,"If you do,I'll set Dinah on you!"
그녀는 그녀가 할수 있을 만큼 불렀다,"니가 그렇게 한다면,나는 대니쉬를 너에게 갖다 댈꺼야!"
Dead silence. 죽음의 소리였다.
Alice waited to see what they'd do next.
앨리스는 그들이 다음할 행동을 보기위해 기다렸다.
A shower of pebbles came through the window. Some hit her in the face.
젖은 도약돌을 창문을 통해 가져왔다. 몇개가 그녀의 얼굴의 부딪혔다.
But when the pebbles fell to the floor,they turned into little cakes.
그러나 조약돌이 바닥에 떨어져있었을때,그들은 작은 케익으로 돌려놨었다.
If I eat one,it's sure to change my size, she thought.
만약 내가 이것을 먹으면 정말로 내 크기를 바꿀 수 있어, 그녀가 생각했다.
It couldn't possibly make me larger,so it must make me smaller!
그것이 나를 가능한 크게 만들지 않으면,그것은 나를 작게 만들수 있어!

앨리스는 케이크를 들이삼켰다.
She was thrilled to find herself shrinking.
그녀는 그녀자신에서 설레임이 줄어드는것을 찾았다.
When she was small enough to fit through the door, she ran outside.
그녀가 그 문을 통과할 정도의 충분히 작아졌을때, 그녀는 밖으로 달려나갔다.
There she saw a crowd of animals.
그녀가 동물들로 붐비는 것을 보았다.
In the mid-dle of the crowd,a lizard was being bandaged up by two guinea pigs.
중간에서 붐비고 , 두 작은 돼지들이 도마뱀을 붕대로 감고 있었다.
Alice wondered if the lizard was poor Bill, the animal she had kicked out of the chimney.
앨리스는 만약 도마뱀이 빌이였다면, 그 동물들을 그녀가 굴뚝밖으로 차버렸나 하고 궁금해했다.
Everyone else rushed at Alice.
모두가 앨리스를 향해 돌진했다.
But she ran madly away into the woods.
그러나 그녀는 미친듯이 나무안으로 들어갔다.

There were flowers and tress and grass.

그러나 거기에는 분명이 먹을거나 마실게 아무것도 없었다.
There was a large mushroom growing near her.
거기에는 그녀의 옆에서 큰 버섯이 자라고 있었다.
It was about her height.
그것은 그녀의 키정도 였다.
She looked under it and on both sides of it and behind it.
그녀는 그것 아래를 보고 양쪽 옆도,그리고 뒤도 보았다.
Then she decided she may as well look on top of it.
그리곤 그녀는 그녀가 아마 그것의 꼭대기를 잘 봤을꺼라고 다짐했다.
She stood on tiptoe and peeked over the edge of the mushroom.
그녀는 버섯의 가장자리 주변으로 발끝으로 살금살금 걸었다.

그 애벌레는 가끔씩 정적속에서 조용히 앨리스에게 응시했다.
At last he spoke in a slow,sleepy voice.
마침내 그가 졸린 목소리로 느리게 말을 했다.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"누구세요?"그가 물었다.
"I-I hardly know,sir," Alice found herself say-ing.
"나-나는 힘겹게 알았어요,경" 앨리스가 그녀자신을 말하는걸 알았다.
"I knew who I was this morning.But I think I changed several times since then."
"나는 이 아침이 누구의 아침인지 알아요. 그러나 내가 생각하는것은 그때 몇몇의 시간을 바꾸고 싶다는거예요"
"Explain yourself!" the Caterpillar snapped.
"너 자신을 소개해!" 그 애벌래가 꾸짖었다.
"I can't explain myself, sir,"Alice said sadly.
"저는 제 소개를 할수 없어요, 경," 앨리스가 슬프게 말했다.
"Because I'm not myself,you see."
"왜냐면 난 지금 내 자신이 아니예요,당신이 보세요."
"I don't see," said the Caterpillar.
"난 보이지 않아," 애벌레가 말했다.

"Maybe you don't think so now,"Alice said.
"아마 지금 당신이 그렇게 생각하지 않는것 같군요,"앨리스가 말했다.
"But when you turn into a butterfly one day,I think you'll feel a bit strange.Don't you?"
"그러나 당신이 하루만 나비로 바뀔때,나는 당신이 아조 조금은 이상함을 느낄꺼라고 생각해요,그러지않아요?"
"Not a bit,"said the Caterpilar.
"아주 조금이 아닌걸," 애벌레가 말했다.
"Well, maybe you'd feel no different," Alice said.
"음, 아마 당신이 달라진게 없다고 느끼겠죠," 앨리스가 말했다.

그것들을 사서 돌아올때까지 계속 되었다.
Alice was getting annoyed.
앨리스는 점점 짜증나게 했다.
"I think you should tell me who you are first,"she said.
"나는 당신으 먼제 누구인지 말해줄꺼라고 생각하고 있어" 그녀가 말했다.
"Why?" "왜?"
This was a puzzling question.
그것은 퍼즐을 하는 질문 이야.
Since Alice could not think of a good reason,and since the Caterpillar seemed so grumpy, she turned away.
앨리스가 좋은 이유는 아니라고 생각했기 때, 그리고 애벌레가 매우 성격이 안좋아 보일때, 그녀는 돌아서 가버렸다.
"Come back,"the Caterpillar said.
"돌아와," 그 애벨레가 말했다.
"I have something important to say!"
"나한테 아주 중요한 무언가의 말이 있단말야!"

"Is that all?" Alice said.
" 그게 다야?" 앨리스가 말했다.

The Caterpillar was silent for a long while.
애벌레가 잠시 길게 동안 조용했다.
At last he said,"What size do you want to be?"
마침내 그가 말했다," 얼마정도의 크기가 되고 싶은건데?"
She thought a moment.
그녀는 잠시 생각 했다.
" A litte longer," she said.
"조금 더 크고 싶어," 그녀가 말했다.
"Three inches is a wretched height to be."
"3인치면 자라기에 충분할꺼 같은데."
"It is a very good height!" the Caterpillar shouted.
"아주 좋은 크기야!" 애벌레가 소리쳤다.

"You'll get used to it" the Caterpillar said.
"니가 얻어서 이용하면 되지" 애벌레가 말했다.
Finally, he yawned and shook himself.
끝내, 그가 하품하더니 그 자신이 흔들었다.
He called out,"One side will make you grow shorter."
그가 불러 나왔다,"한 모서리가 너를 작게 만들어 줄꺼야"
One side of what? Alice thought.
한 모서리의 뭐 ? 앨리스가 생각했다.
The other side of what?

앨리스 버섯을 보았다.
She tried to decide which side was which.
그녀는 모서리가 어디에 있고,가려고 노력하기로 결심했다.
The mushroom was perfectly round,so it was hard to tell.
그 버섯은 완벽하게 둥글었다,그래서 그것을 말하기 어려웠다.
At last, she stretched her arms around as far as they would go.
끝내, 그녀는 그녀의 팔을 그것들이 있는 곳으로 최대한 멀리 뻗었다.
She broke off a bit of the mush-room in each hand.
그녀는 조금 작은 버섯으로 손이 분리 되었다.
She nibbled a little from her right hand.
그녀는 그녀의 오른 쪽에 있는 작은것을 조금 먹었다.

Her chin was so close to her foot,there was hardly room to open her mouth.
그녀의 턱이 발에 가까웠고,거기에서 힘들게 방에서 그녀가 그녀의 입을 열었다.
