Lois knew an earthquake had just happened.
-로이스는 방금 지진이 일어났다는 것을 알았다.
Earthquakes were not new to her.

She had never been in an earthquake this big, though!
-하지만, 방금처럼 큰 지진은 한 번도 겪어보지 못했다.
She looked at grandpa.
-그녀는 할아버지를 보았다.
He held his head.
-그가 고개를 들었다.
"We're okay, Grandpa," Lois said.
-"우린 괜찮아," 로이스가 말했다.
But maybe we are not really okay, she thought to herself.
-하지만 만약 우리가 괜찮지 않다면, 하고 그녀는 생각했다.
She looked at the hills around them.
-그녀는 그녀 주변의 언덕을 쳐다보았다.
Debris was everywhere.
-잔해들이 널려 있었다.
She saw timbers from the broken buildings lying all over the road.
-그녀는 부서진 집의 목재들이 길에 널부러져 있는 것을 보았다.
Lois's family called her "Little Hare" because she always ran around quickly like a little rabbit, or hare.
-로이스의 가족은 그녀를 "작은 산토끼" 라 불렀는데, 그녀가 언제나 토끼(혹은 산토끼) 처럼 사방팔방으로 뛰어다니기 떄문이었다.
She always tried to do everything at once.
-그녀는 언제나 모든 것을 한 번에 해결하려 했다.
She never focused on finishing just one thing at a time.
-그녀는 절대로 한 일에만 집중하지 않았다.
Now Little Hare needed to do so many things to help make her and Grandpa safe.
-이제 작은 산토끼는 그녀와 할아버지의 안전을 위해 아주 많은 일을 해내야 했다.
She had to think hard about what to do first.
-그녀는 무엇을 먼저 해야 할지 고심해야 했다.

Grandpa rubbed his head again.

Lois looked around.

A big rock was next to it.

Lois crawled over the front seat to the back of the car.

Then she went out the back door.
-그러고 나서 그녀는 뒷문으로 나갔다.
She started to throw rubble out of her way.
-그녀는 돌무더기를 그녀가 가는 길 밖으로 던지기 시작했다.
Like a little hare, she tried to push everything at once.

This meant nothing got done!

They looked like fireworks.

Then a water tower fell over and water poured over the ground.

She wanted to make a flute out of wood, talk to her friends,
and learn more of the Inuit language all at the same time!

Lois stopped and thought for a moment.

Then she had an idea,

She would push the rocks in front of the car to the side.

Soon they saw Paul riding his bicycle to find them.
