- A great number of people have asked me to write down the whole story of Treasure Island, and that I shall do.
수많은 사람들이 보물 섬의 이야기를 써 달라고 부탁했고, 제가 할 일도 있었습니다
but I will leave out the loca-tion of the island,because the treasure is still out there.
그러나 나는 그 섬의 바깥쪽을 떠날 것이다. 왜냐하면 그 보석이 아직도 밖에 있기 때문이다.
The story begins back when my father was running an inn called the Admiral Benbow.
이야기는 우리 아버지가 Benbow라는 여인숙을 운영하고 있을 때로 돌아간다.
The night was bitter, and we could hear a howling wind outside when the old seaman with a scarred face first made his way through our door.
밤이 되자 우리는 밖에서 엄청난 바람소리를 나이든 선원이 문을 열었을때 들를수 있었다.
In he blew, a strange sight with his sea chest being dragged behind him in a wheelbarrow.

He was strong and tall, with nut-brown skin and a blackened pigtail hanging over a dirty blue coat.

- Our guest seemed not to notice him at first,so busy was he at looking around our inn.

- The man who carried his things told us that he had just come into port that morning and that he had asked for a quiet inn along the coast.

- One day,he Promised me a silver fourpenny a month if I would watch,with my"weather eye,"for a one-legged sailors,and let him know if he appeared.

- The doctor's horse soon came and he road away.

Not long after, something mysterious occurred that rid us of the Captain, though not of his affairs.

That winter was severe, and it was clear my father would not live to see the spring.

- I asked what he wanted. He sat down and motioned for me to come near.

- "Bill!" The captain turned as if he had seen a ghost.
