- But her voice held that stone-cold tone I had heard all too many times.

I felt myself wanting to cry from disappointment.

- Thinking fast, Flynn grabbed a vine, swung around, knocked the captain from the saddle, and landed on Maximus's back.

Maximus dug in his hooves and screeched to a stop.

- Flynn sprang forward and began to crawl along the underside of the tree, thinking he could escape the horse.
