- C is for Confusion...
C는 혼돈의 C이다...
"One of us should run to the police station now," Dink said.
"우리 중 한명은 지금 경찰서로 달려가야 합니다" 라고 딕이 말했다.
Suddenly, three things happened at once: The upatairs light blazed on.
갑자기, 세가지 일이 한번에 일어났다 즉 등불이 커졌다.
Dink heard a loud scream.
Dink는 소리가 큰 비명소리가 들었다.
And a police whistle blared through the open window.
그리고 열려있는 창문을 향해 경찰이 경적을 울렸다.
Dink leaped to his feet.
Dink는 벌떡 일어섰다.
Mrs. Davis was up there, and so was the burglar!
Mrs. Davis는 거기에 있었고, 절도범도 마찬가지였다!
But which one had let out that scream?

Dink Duncan opened his front door.

- "HI, Josh. C'mon in, " said Dink.

Josh hurried past Dink, wiping his forehead.

"We sure picked the hottest day of the summer to go to the circus," he said.

"I just took a shower, and I'm still hot."

Dink grinned. "You took a shower? Let's see, that's two showers this month, right?"

"Haw haw, very funny," Josh said.
"호 호, 매우 재미지네요," Josh가 말하였다.
He opened the refrigerator door and pulled up his shirt.
그는 냉장고 문을 열고 셔츠를 꺼냈다.
"Ahh, that feels good!"
"아, 기분이 좋아요!"
"It won't feel so good if my mom catches you," Dink said.
"우리 엄마가 널 잡으면 기분이 별로 안 좋을 거야,"라고 Dink는 말하였다.
Josh grabbed the apple juice and flopped into a chair.
Josh는 사과 주스를 움켜잡고 의자에 쾅 하고 앉았다.

- "You're funny, but it's too hot to laugh," he said, pouring himself a glass.
" 우습긴 한데, 웃기엔 너무 뜨거워요,"라고 그가 유리를 따르며 말했다.
"Where's Ruth Rose? It's almost time to leave."
"루스 로즈는 어디 있어? 떠날 시간이 거의 다 됐어."
"She's waiting next door."
"그녀는 옆방에서 기다리고 있어요."
Dink put his plate in the sink.
Dink는 접시를 싱크대에 놓았다.
"I have to run up and brush my teeth."
"나는 뛰어서 나의 치아를 닦아야 한다."
"Forget your teeth - the circus is waiting!"
"너의 이닦기는 잊어버려. 서커스가 기다리고 있어!"
Dink grinned and pointed to a clown-faced cookie jar on the counter.
Dink는 씨익 웃으며 카운터 위에 놓인 크림색의 과자 통을 가리켰다.
"Grab a cookie. I'll be right down."
"쿠키 좀 집어 치워. 금방 내려갈게."
Josh made a beeline for the cookie jar.
Josh는 과자 단지를 향해 직행했다.
"Take your time brushing," he said.
"천천히 하세요."라고 그가 말했다.

"Dink,"his mother called, "are you running?"
"Dink,"그의 엄마를 불렀다,"너가 달렸니?"
"Sorry, Mom," he called back.
미안해요, 엄마, 그는 뒤로 불렸다.
"We're in a hurry.
"우리는 서둘렸다.
Thursday is half-price admission if we get to the circus by one o'clock."

Dink brushed his teeth, yanked a comb through his blond hair, then charged back down the stairs.

"Donald David Duncan!" his mother yelled.

"Got it, Mom!" Dink Grabbed the phone, watching Josh stuff a whole cookie unto his mouth.
" 알았어, 엄마!" Dink가 전화를 잡았다, 조쉬가 그의 입에 쿠키를 잔뜩 물고 있는 것을 보았다.

Dink listened, then said, "We'll be over in five minutes." He hung up.

"We'll be over where in five min-utes?" Josh asked.
