- Josh shot out of the bed,

tripping over his sneakers as he charged into the kitchen.

Ruth Rose was already there, washing the fruit bowl.

"I don't see any food," Josh grumbled.

- "I'll wash the floor," Ruth Rose said, dragging a mop from a closet.

Dink turned the radio on low, and they cleaned to country songs.

- Ruth Rose took the hair and held it up to the light.

He folded the hair inside a paper towel and stuck it in his pocket.

- "Good morning!" Mrs. Cornelius chirped.

Using a cane, she led them into a cheerful living room.

"Please sit on the sofa, where I can see you." she said.

The kids lined up on the sofa.

Mrs. Cornelius sat opposite them.

She leaned close and studied their faces.

- "Now tell me why three children have come to visit an old lady like me," she said.

Dink told Mrs. Cornelius about the stolen painting.
딩크는 코르넬리우스 부인께 그림 도둑에 대해 말했습니다.
"Goodnees!" she said.

"I always miss the excitement.

When did it happen, dear?"

"Last night, during the block party," Ruth Rose said.

Mrs. Cornelius clapped her hands.

"That prowler I saw on my balcony must have been the thief!" she said.

"Um, we were wondering if you could tell us what happened.

- Using her cane for support, Mrs. Cornelius stood up.
그녀의 지팡이를 사용할 수 있게 떠받칩니다, 코르넬리우스 부인은 일어났습니다.
"Come with me."

She walked to her balcony.
그녀는 그녀의 발코니로 걸어갔습니다.
"Pull those drapes, dear," she said to Josh.
"그 커튼들을 당기렴,얘야," 라고 그녀는 조시에게 말했습니다.
When the drapes were opened, the kids looked out onto the balcony.
그때 그 커튼들이 열렸습니다,그 아이들은 그 발코니 쪽으로 향해 있었습니다.
It was just like Uncle Warren's, except that several bird feeders were attached to the balcony railing.
그곳에 딱 그 발코니 난간에 있는 각각의 새 먹이통만 제외하면 엉클 워렌과 비슷한 형체가 있었습니다.
"I love to feed the birds, but I have trouble seeing them,"
"나는 그 새들에게 먹이 주는 것을 좋아해,그러나 나는 그들에게 문제가 있는걸 보았어.
Mrs. Cornelius said.
코르넬리우스 부인이 말했습니다.
"That's why I bought this!"
"그래서 내가 이걸 샀단다!"
She pointed to a round magnifying glass about the size of a pie plate.
그녀는 둥그란 돋보기로 파이 그릇의 그 크기를 가리켰습니다.

- It was stuck to the inside of the balcony's glass door.
그 발코니의 유리문 안에 계속 있었습니다.
Dink looked curiously through the magnifying glass.
딩크는 돋보기를 통해 신기한 듯이 보았습니다.
"Wow, everything looks bigger!" he said.
"와우, 모든 것이 커보여요!" 라고 그는 말했습니다.
"Isn't it fun?" Mrs. Cornelius said.
"재밌지 않니?" 라고 코르넬리우스 부인이 말했습니다.
"I heard a noise last night, so I walked over and peeked through the drapes.
"나는 어젯밤에 시끄러운 소리를 들었단다, 그래서 나는 건너편으로 갔고 그 커튼들을 통해 훔쳐봤어.
Someone was on the balcony!"
그 발코니 위에 어떤 사람이 있었어!"
"What did he look like?" Dink asked.

"I thought you'd never ask," Mrs. Cornelius said.

She took a pad out of the pocket of her robe and handed it to Dink.

Written in large, spidery letters were the words:

- Dink gulped when he read the last two words:

"Still think the crook is Mrs. Cornelius?"

Dink asked as they walked back up to the tenth floor.

"Mrs. Cornelius's description sure does sound like Miss Booker," Ruth Rose admitted.
"코르넬리우스 부인이 미스 부커를 설명하는 것처럼 들려." 루스로즈가 인정했습니다.
Dink laughed. "Bad posture, baggy clothes, orange hair-sounds more like Josh!"

He opened the door to his uncle's apartment.
그는 그의 삼촌의 아파트 문을 열었습니다.
"There you are," Uncle Warren said.

"Thank you for cleaning up.

What a lovely surprise!

- "I am!" Josh said, heading for the kitchen.

After taking his first bite of pancake, Dink reached into his pocket for the folded paper towel.

He pulled out the orange hair and showed it to his uncle.

The kids heard cupboard doors opening and closing.

- A minute later, Dink's uncle was back, carrying a small wooden box.
1분 후, 딩크의 삼촌이 돌아왔습니다, 나무로 된 작은 박스를 들고 계셨습니다.
He moved the pancake platter to one side and set the box in its place.
그는 한 쪽으로 팬케이크 그릇을 움직였고 그 박스 안에서 그것의 위치를 맞춥니다.
Then he pulled off the lid, revealing a shiny microscope.
그때 그는 뚜껑을 잡아당겼습니다, 빛나는 현미경이 보입니다.
He plugged the microscope's cord into a wall outlet.

"Josh, may I have one of your hairs?" he asked.

"Sure." Josh grimaced as he yanked out a hair.

Then he passed the hair to Uncle Warren.

Dink's uncle laid both hairs on a glass slide, then placed the slide under the microscope lens.
딩크의 삼촌은 유리 슬라이드에 머리카락을 올려 놓았을뿐만 아니라,그때 그 슬라이드 아래에 그 현미경 렌즈를 배치했습니다.
He adjusted the scope and put one eye to it.
그는 그 기회를 바로 잡고 그것에 한쪽 눈을 놓습니다.
"Well, I think it's a real hair," Uncle Warren said after a minute.
"내 생각엔 이것은 진짜 머리카락일거야." 엉클 워렌은 1분 후 말했습니다.
