1821 장혜원) I respect your arguement, however I belive that gaming itself and game addiction are different matters. As you said, game could be a way to express one's values, but the game addiction is different from enjoying game. Game addiction is a state when a person cannot stop playing games regardless of his/her will. This should be taken seriously and be treated in addition to regulating it through laws. Thus, I think that people's health is more important than economical markets. For these reasons, I think that game addicItion is a disease

(1213송영인)Your opinion is reasonable, but it has an important error. If we regulate game with laws as you said, we need standard. For example, "if a person play game over 7hours a day, he or she is addicted to game". Or "if a person pay over 1000000won a month he or she is addicted to game". If laws regulate games without such standards, it will harm every gamer's right to enjoy their hobby. But once we define game addiction as a disease as some laws, they can be changed. "7hours a day" can be "5hours" or "3 hours". It's because criteria of addiction is not obvious. And of course it will harm value of game. Thus, laws have to try to cure people who got damaged playing game, not define game addiction as a disease. This two things are VERY different things.

1821 장혜원) However the seriousness of game addiction differs from one person to another. If we make a definate standard of game addiction by generalizing time limits, there might be a problem that game addict won't be diagonized properly because of such standard. For example, playing games for 3 hours for a day might make a person suffer from addicted behaviors while the same can be applied to a person who plays 12 hours. If we generalized the standard of game addiction from the limit of time, a person who is addicted might not be diagnosed as game addiction because he/she played less than the standard time. Therefore, each person should be treated independently and diagnosed from their own conditions and symptoms. Thus, classifying game addiction as a disease could contribute to establish such law to contribute toward curing game addiction properly. This is why I think that game addiction should be classified as a disease for our community and individuals.

1815 이여정 I disagree with the opinion that treating your game addiction as a disease not only results in economic losses but also cultural losses. In fact, one of the reasons why game addiction has not been classified as a disease so far is due to complaints from game companies. I don't think it's right to think about the damage caused by game addiction just to gain economic and cultural benefits.
